To be successful in this role you must possess the following:
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Demonstrated experience working in a labouring/ construction/ trade role
  • Demolition Experience
  • Willingness to work in a high performing team and complete labouring duties as required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and problem solve
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Drivers Licence/ ability to find own way to or from any site, suburban or CBD
  • Must be physically fit, and able to do physically demanding work
  • Right to work in Australia
Highly Regarded but not essential
  • Class A or B Asbestos Ticket will be considered favourable
  • DCSI Clearance
  • Police Certificate
  • Any plant operating tickets or trade tickets would be advantageous but not essential

Trainee Demolition Division – Project Officer/ Estimator Full-Time

We are seeking an Trainee Demolition Division – Project Officer/ Estimator

The Trainee Project Officer / Estimator has a key role in the procurement and delivery of Demolition construction projects for our customers and is a great opportunity for someone who is studying at Uni and wants a career in the Construction Industry.

The key objectives and performance measures for the position are sustained profitability, retained customers, accurate project filing, timely procurement, and timely completion of tasks are directed.

Therefore, you are responsible for ensuring that all cost estimates submitted when tendering are accurate, all projects are managed in accordance with the client’s specifications and within De-Construct’s budget, all tasks are carried out according to WHSE regulations, and all employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner.

The Dimensions

This position is located at our Richmond office, with multiple project sites in Urban and Rural Areas.

The Environment

The local environment consists of two divisions of De-Construct; Asbestos and Demolition and this position description is specific to the Demolition Division. The team is comprised of site-based Supervisors, Project Managers, Estimators, Operations Manager, Machine Operators and Labourers.

Reporting Relationships

The Trainee Demo Division Project Office / Estimator reports to the Demolition Divisional Manager on project-specific areas. You will work closely with other Demolition team members on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

Primary Responsibilities

This includes drawing take off’s and assisting PM’s and estimators with submissions.

Selling and Marketing

Tendering

You are required to complete take-offs, and assist estimators during the tendering process.

Contract Administration

Your team’s administration is to be timely, thorough, and comprehensive to the extent that anyone can easily find information within the project files and/or reassign the administration of the project where necessary. The key tasks of your administration role include: Take offs and invoicing variations.

New job Files.

Project budget and job sheet – These are to be prepared at contract award/tender acceptance and prior to the placement of any orders to subcontractors or suppliers.

Requirement that you are proficient in Excel, Bluebeam or similar.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator This is a full-time opportunity to join the team at De-Construct.com.au as a Project Manager/Estimator for demolition projects. Based in Richmond, South Australia, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of demolition projects, from estimating and planning to project execution and delivery. Your role will be pivotal in contributing to the company's growth and success within the construction industry.

Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for demolition projects

Developing detailed project plans and schedules to ensure timely and efficient project delivery

Managing all aspects of demolition projects, including resource allocation, site supervision, and stakeholder communication

Identifying and mitigating potential risks to ensure project success

Collaborating with the wider team to continuously improve processes and drive innovation

Ensuring projects are completed to the highest safety and quality standards

What We’re Looking For:
  • Substantial experience as a Project Manager/Estimator in the Demolition or construction industry
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex demolition projects from start to finish
  • Excellent estimating and project planning skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Thorough understanding of demolition and construction regulations, safety protocols, and best practices
  • Proficiency in using project management and estimating software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor more junior members
  • Proficient in Excel & Bluebeam
  • Asbestos removal knowledge
Qualifications: Experience as a Project Manager/Estimator

  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications (preferred)
